I am selling my Eddie Current Balancing Act headphone amplifier ($3,950). Bought new in late 2011 from Eddie Current directly. This is configured for US voltage, and has the Penny & Giles (10K) pot upgrade ($300), which I sourced myself--Eddie Current began offering these as an option following my build. This also includes a dream list of tubes, many of which are no longer available:
2 KR PX4 ($650, if you can find these) (note: there is a glass shard in one tube that does not affect sound, a common issue with these)
2 EML Mesh 300B ($650, ditto)
2 JTL-6X4 Tungsol NOS D getter halo ($150)
1 Marconi Osram B65 NOS (6SN7) ($400--you most likely cannot buy this and it is, in a word, remarkable)
Sundry other rectifier and 6SN7 tubes TBA ($100+)
Buyer pays $100 in Paypal fees and $100 in shipping fees (insured within US--foreign buyers pay actual costs). Will ship in original boxes with manual, umbilical, etc.
Condition is excellent--rated 8/10 conservatively due to age.
It pains me to sell this. It is a work of art, and with the right headphones (and included tubes) simply magical.
Price is fair and relatively firm. No trades. Will consider offers for amp with no tubes.
Thank you for looking,
Alex
"To wrap up and considering the competition, the Eddie Current Balancing Act is a clear Blue Moon Award winner as a headphone driver with first-class add-on preamp functionality,"

Stereophile review:
"I’ll cut straight to the core of my sonic impressions and flat-out declare this amp, easily heard within the first few minutes of listening, to offer the most expansive, most realistic soundstaging of any headphone amp I have ever listened to. Its damn right other-worldly, and is simply instant transportation into something very hard to describe but easily heard and felt."
