A unique opportunity to purchase what is arguably one of the finest amplifiers (monoblocks) available in like new condition (used lightly for a few months) with all original packaging and flight cases (with wheels).
A 550 Wpc, class-A, hybrid with 2 x 6SN7 input stage, and HV output stage.
The M 40 HV is an uncompromising power amplifier that satisfies the most extreme audiophile demands under a vast range of operating conditions.
The M 40 HV combines T+A's experience in the various areas of high-end audio technology: an audiophile tube circuit for the input stage, T+A's HV (High Voltage) technology for the transistor stages, and intelligent thermal processor control for the output stages. Together with T+A's legendary and uncompromising case design and construction, this is truly a formidable amp for high-end systems.
Tube Input Stage
The entire input amplification section is based on carefully selected 6SN7 tubes, operating in class-A. It is designed as a symmetrical differential amplifier exploiting an all-valve cascode circuit. This results in a very harmonious sonic image, and instills the musical and tonal advantages of tube technology into the sound character of the M 40 HV.
Class-A Output
The voltage amplifier stage is an HV (High Voltage) J-FET amplifier circuit with triode performance characteristics, which also operates in pure Class-A mode. The result is excellent bandwidth and an agile performance which defines the sound qualities of the amplifier as a whole.
The input to the power amp stage is based on MOSFET driver transistors whose performance curve harmonizes superbly with the HV voltage amplifier stage. At the output side the current amplifiers are equipped with no fewer than twenty extremely high-performance ring emitter bipolar transistors. These components satisfy the most extreme demands in terms of current supply capacity and bandwidth.
