Belt drive turntable with SME M2-9 tone arm. The new Acrylic-Series is stunning - not only from a visual point of view. Thanks to elaborate control circuitry, an extremely stable acrylic plinth and a heavy aluminium platter, the turntables are made to sound as exciting as they look.
The external motor unit of the Thorens Acrylic-Series was constructed in a way that there is no mechanical contact to the plinth, thus avoiding transfer of vibration. In addition, the entire turntable rests on special feet which effectively dampen all kinds of air-born or footfall vibrations and eventually ensure a continuous, undisturbed run of the platter.
SME offers a meticulously built product, including lightweight stainless steel tone arm, detachable magnesium headshell with azimuth adjustment, tungsten balance weight, superb quality ball race bearings and a level of stiffness and rigidity to suit all types of cartridges.
The Denon cartridge has less than 20 hours of use. The cartridge will be shipped with stylus cover, and packed carefully, but no guarantee due to their delicate nature. However, I have successfully shipped cartridges in the past.
Also included is the optional dust cover, the Thorens record stabilizer and Gingko Audio Cloud Vibration Control Platform, shipped separately.
If you were to purchase all of these items new, you would be spending well over $6000.
