MCINTOSH MR-78 STEREO TUNER

Because of it’s Design & Performance,
the Mcintosh MR-78 is certainly one of the best Stereo tuners ever. During it’s
8 year run in the 70s, it had a retail selling price of $1699.00. This one
owner example is in nice condition considering the age. It still works perfect
with all it’s lights still currently working. The tuning indicator dial rotates
smoothly, is linear & in proper calibration. The signal strength meter
& the center tuning meter work properly as well. It easily receives all the
stations in my area by simply using a die-pole style antenna, “not included”.
All the controls operate as they should and rotate smoothly having NO noise. I
feel overall cosmetically that this tuner is in nice condition. The faceplate, glass,
controls etc. look fantastic. The dial glass & lettering is clear and sharp
with no hazy shadowing. It does have some nicks and scratches mostly on the
transformer cover. This clean tuner comes from a smoke free home and is free of
any rust & oxidation. The fact that this component operates as well as it
does “today” is an obvious testament to the engineering & build quality of
Mcintosh Electronics. Included is a quality color owners manual copy. I try the best I can to provide revealing
pictures & to accurately describe this tuner and its current operating
condition. Even though it will be very carefully packed, Its always possible
for items to sustain shocks that alter their working condition & at the
same time result in no obvious physical damage, OR for a part to fail simply
due to age. This vintage tuner  is
