The ASW855 Contains a 1000 watt class D amplifier with 15 inch driver from the B&W 801D speaker. It is both musical while achieving a significant levels of bass. It has the quality, finish, and craftsmanship you can expect from B&W's 800 speaker series. As the B&W dealer told me, the B&W sub's are the "polished and smooth" subwoofers. They maintain their sonic composure even under the highest levels of stress.

I am the original owner and the ASW855 Subwoofer was purchased new from a B&W dealer here in Tampa for $3,300 plus tax. It weighs over 100 pounds and produces accurate bass down to 14Hz. The ASW855 has very low hours and is perfect in all ways. No scratches or blemishes of any kind. Works perfectly. It will be shipped in its original box with original owners manual and feet (for hardwood floors) and spikes (for carpeted floors). This is a beautiful ASW855 and it will make a very fine addition, and will complement even the largest of A/V systems.

Per B&W: The Matrix-braced cabinet of the ASW855 accommodates a massive 380mm (15 in) drive unit derived from that in the 801D. The Rohacell®/carbon fibre sandwich cone material ensures that even this large area moves as a pure piston right through the subwoofer bandwidth and well beyond. Driven by our 1000W Class-D amplifier, this driver can produce prodigious amounts of bass power with absolute control - enough for most large high-end projects. But if more is required, all B&W subwoofers can be daisy-chained in multiples as required. Comprehensive controls are provided so that the subwoofer can be integrated seamlessly into either a multi-channel or 2-channel installation."
