SAE Mark IVD power amplifier, a James Bongiorno design.

100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, amp is very stable with low impedance loads.

With an input impedance of 50K, the amp is well suited for passive preamps.

The SAE has a new lamp for the power light and the unit has been bench tested and bias and idle have been set to factory spec. All internal protection fuses have been upgraded to higher ratings as documented in a service bulletin from SAE. The silver plate on the rear of the unit is from a factory service visit during its life with the original owner.

Cosmetics are very nice. The front face is clean, however the lower right corner has been bent and then straightened. The photos indicate that the issue is not too noticeable. The top and rear are very clean and the unit has all four original feet. No rust on the unit. A very slight power transformer hum, it is slight but it is there. Amp is dead quiet through the speakers.

An original owner’s manual and a photocopy of the service manual will accompany purchase at the listed price. Also included at the listed price will be a replacement Fairchild bridge rectifier, and speaker terminals and RCA jacks from Parts Connexion for your upgrading pleasure.

Dimensions are 17 x 5 ¾ x 13 inches and the weight is 33 lbs. Shipping weight will be closer to 38 lbs.
