Meitner MTR-100 recapped plus refinished mahogany cabinets CHeck other listings for reduced prices

Here's a pair of Meitner MTR-100 monoblocks that were updated by Bill Thalmann at Music Technology

I sent the amps to Bill and he said in an email, "Well, when I starting looking at the Meitners from the standpoint of upgrading them, not much was apparent. Aside from caps (14 of them) that NEED to be replaced, the only other things I’d propose are new RCA’s and new binding posts, both of which are fairly heavily corroded. The repair will run about $420 and the extras would add $100."

I sent the mahogany cabinets to a professional refinisher, who stripped them down, patched a crack in the top of one and applied numerous coats of lacquer. The crack is still somewhat apparent, but the cabinets shine and shine.

There are no feet on the bottom of the cabinets; I used them with Mapleshade cones. Let me know and I'll include some self-adhesive rubber feet from the hardware store, but I recommend cones of some sort for the best sound.

(Filene's Basement was a discount department store in Boston that sold stuff for cheap, and every week they would reduce the price on items that didn't sell. I bought a suit there for my first wedding for $125. The friggin suit lasted longer than the marriage, but that's a whole other story.)
