Great American Sound Thoebe GAS Audio Updated Preamp

I am a longtime owner of GAS equipment and this preamp has been in the family since the late '70s and is the stable mate to my Son of Ampzilla.
I had the Thoebe upgraded with fresh components installed in all the critical areas and where component age dictated. This was all done by Mike Bettinger of GAS Audio last year. After GAS Audio rebuilt my Son of Ampzilla and did such an incredible job, I saw fit to have the Thoebe follow. The results were just as good as I expected.
The reason for selling the Thoebe is that I have upgraded my DAC to a PS Audio Direct Stream. I previously had the PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC. Paul McGowan was right when he said that DAC needed a preamp in front of it. The Thoebe brought the juice the DAC could not muster on its own.
Now that I have upgraded to the Direct Stream this is not the case. After swapping cables to hear the system with the Thoebe in and Thoebe out, the system does not sound the less for it. It was a close race with having it in and out that the decision was made.
The phono stage and headphone amp were part of the rebuild but not used. It is in great condition and I am rating it an 8 for that.
