"This time, though, the hair stood up on the back of my neck. This is what our hobby is about, and why I keep seeking the holy grail of perfect music reproduction! At the end of the song, Alison's voice again slows, tapering off to complete a song drenched in the emotion of lost love, but I had found my new love in the Bel Canto eVo2s... If the eVo2's only advantage was its lack of heat, it would be worth consideration for that reason alone. The fact that it sounds better than amps costing twice as much makes it a keeper in my book." Ed Morawski, Positive Feedback Online, Issue 14
"The modified (Gen II) eVo upped the heat in that 'shock department' as though a minuscule amount of fuzz or blur had been removed to render wooden cracks on metal, hand claps, finger snaps and foot stomps that little but significant amount more immediate and unprocessed...It's both subtle and completely obvious - subtle in that it's not frequency-domain specific as in more bass or less treble; obvious as in you relating more powerfully to the music because some kind of invisible barrier or drag has been removed. From a certain point onward, this type of improvement in audio transparency and immediacy can come at a very high price." Srajan Ebaen, 6moons.com
"The Bel Canto eVo2's represent a new level of signal purity and musicality that few can match..." Clement Perry, Stereo Times
Bel Canto Evo 2 Generation II amplifer($3290). I'm not really going out
on a limb when I say that this is overall the finest single amp I have ever heard. I
had Bel Canto's reference 500 mono amplifiers($2000) and they couldn't
hold a candle to this one. Listener fatigue is non existent and it has
the smooth Class A sound of low powered tube amps. The regular Evo2 was a
Stereophile Class A rated component, and this is the upgraded
Generation II model. I have had other Stereophile Class A rated amps,
but nothing can beat this one. I seriously don't know why they didn't
just keep making the Evo series forever. The newer models fall short in
my opinion. If you look closely in the left hand corner of the backside
shot, you can see Evo 2 Gen II. Audiogon bluebook average is $1386.21 for Evo2 Gen 2.

Questions for the seller |
---|
Hello,
How old is it? Are you the original owner? Any technical issues? thanks. Hi,
I am the second owner that I know of and I am not sure how old it is. It functions and sounds like the day I bought it so no technical issues. At $999, you pay less than 1/3 what it originally cost.
