AUM ACOUSTICS VOLUME CONTROL DESCRIPTION

I’m selling a hybrid passive preamplifier that takes a major step forward toward achieving the highest level of detail possible while generating a tonality that comes as close to live music as will ever be achieved through recorded music playing through an audio system. Until the introduction of the Aum Acoustics Volume Control, the lack of a statement quality transparent volume control has been the biggest stumbling block and missing item in high-end audio reproduction.

I’ve only built 4 units for sale and there will be no more after these are sold. I’ve already sold two of this limited production run and there are only two remaining for sale.There is absolutely no money to be made building these units. That was never my objective. Rather, I finally achieved a goal I set for myself about a decade ago to design and build the best volume control available anywhere. I’ve spent months designing and prototyping these Version 2 units and this is my second and last version. No more will be built! I simply can’t afford it.

Version 1 did not include two custom internal power supplies, had a normal "thin" typical audio chassis but did use silver/gold/platinum wiring and Furutech FP-901 chassis jacks. It also included Version 1 of Tortuga’s pcb’s. I learned alot from build four of these Version 1 units and all have been sold. As a result of my sonic success, I continued forward to make one more cost no object version - Version 2.

Version 2 (this run) includes 2 custom internal 12V and 5 V power supplies, a heavy duty custom CNC’d chassis, silver, gold, and platinum wiring, Furutech FP-901 chassis jacks, and Version 2 of Tortuga’s pcb’s, and separate compartments for the power section and the LDR circuitry.This is the absolute best possibleLDR based, custom, preamplifier/volume control available today. There is nothing that has been left out and layout, design, and build quality is impecable. These units are both visually and sonically beautiful! They are also built like a tank.

THE LACK OF A STELLAR VOLUME CONTROL IS THE BIGGEST LIMITATION IN HIGH-END AUDIO

No matter how good a power amplifier circuit, it’s biggest limitation is and always has been the restriction imposed by a carbon pot, a stepped attenuator, a digital volume control, or most any other method of adjusting volume. Those standard devices actually harm the audio signal a considerable amount and never allow it to provide the detail and transparency that we all would like to have within our systems.

THE SOLUTION

With the introduction of the Aum Acoustics Version 2 Volume Control unit, this stumbling block has been eliminated and a unique high quality volume control now exists to take any system beyond the limitations of its volume control. However, there are and only will be 4 of these units sold.

You will not find a cleaner, more transparent, more musical, and more detail exposing volume control anywhere (active or passive). Unless there is a substantial impedance mismatch between this volume control and your power amp, you will not find a better volume control solution. Even one of the most difficult to control power amplifiers, the Goldmund JOB225, is perfectly matched when combining it with an Aum Acoustics Volume Control unit. I’ve included considerable information below regarding the research and design that has led up to the release of this upgraded Version 2 unit. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The key to the incredibly superb sound of this unit is a combination of it’s unique chassis design (using extruded aluminum panels that are 1/8″ thick with 1/2″ wide integrated ribs for strength and vibration control, the use of 4 pairs of Furutech FP-901 RCA chassis jacks (providing an increase in quality over typical rhodium or gold plated cheap brass jacks), and a unique combination of three exotic metal wire types used for connecting all internal components in this unit. Through the inclusion of gold, silver, and platinum wire, a sonic presentation is made available that is unique to the Aum Acoustics volume control unit. Nothing comes close to the positive sound quality presentation of the combination of exotic metals that I use. Nothing!
