Up for sale is this pair of highly regarded MagnePlanar Tympani 1-A 3 Panel speakers. Serial #'s 042050-L-25, 042073-R-32. If you are looking for a pair of these you know what they can do. These have had one owner and have been fully tested and sound amazing! They come with there original boxes which aren't in great shape. Cloth is nice but does have alittle discoloration in the middle on a couple of panels which is common, some marker marks on one panel which I didn't try to clean and one small area on the hop of one that has a small hole or pull, that's it just want to be thorough in my description. Local pick up only, very heavy and delicate, and will meet the buyer within a reasonable distance. I will ship these only if the buyer makes ALL the arrangements and I will drop them packed and ready to go but they are AS-IS if they are damaged buyer handles filing the claim, NO RETURNS. Don't let these get away! The Tympani's don't come up for sale very often.

The connection plate indicates Tympani I, not IA.
Which model are they? Also, have they ever been factory refurbished? Any extraneous buzzing from the panels? I've read that Tympanis with original panels develop buzzing problems or broken voice coil wires. They are Tympani Tiffney 1. Dont know about servicing. They sound great but I found that one woofer has alittle buzz when I played a heavy bass song loud. I would think anyone buying these would get them refurbished either buy magneplane or by someone else. I ended the listing but they are still available. The price would be less then what was on Audiogon. Let me know if interested. Thanks. Steve |
