With great hesitation, I am selling my Zu Audio Omen Bookshelf speakers. If you are a fan of acoustic music, tubed electronics, flea-watt amps or full-range driver music reproduction, then you know speakers from Zu Audio represent the “good stuff”!

Built around Zu’s proprietary 10” full range driver + a super tweeter in oak cabinets with a gorgeous finish, these are high-efficiency [98dB/1wt/m] speakers highly adroit at reproducing acoustical music with an incredibly life-like feel. I purchased these with a project in mind – an all tubed office system to listen to jazz & classical music. However, “life” got in the way, the project fizzled and now, they consume too much room in my toy closet…besides, it is an absolute shame to have speakers of this quality packed away sitting unused.

I have attached an array of photos of the actual speakers. I am the 2nd owner – the original owner purchased them, used them less than 200hrs, fell in love with Zu and purchased a larger set. I used them as primary speakers in my office system – all solid state – for approx another 600hrs and thoroughly enjoyed them. They image superbly and possess a macro-/micro-dynamic nature that really contributes a sense of “alive” that I have not appreciated in multi-driver systems.

I will ship them in their original heavy-duty, double-box with fitted high-density foam padding with their driver protection plates in place – precisely as they arrived to me. They are quite heavy – 35lbs each + packing = ~ 70lbs & measure 44" x 18" x 18" – so S&H will not be inexpensive.

Brand new, they were $1200/pr. I would conservatively rate these as 8/10 – due very minimal signs of wear – therefore, I am asking $500.00, which is less than half-price for an essentially near-pristine pair. While I am also accepting offers, if you agree to pay my asking price, I will cover the S&H. Anything less than full asking price and S&H is your responsibility. They will be insured for your purchase price and I do not charge extra to cover PayPal fees – using PayPal is to both your benefit & mine.

Please note: I have dropped the "Price When New" price from $1800 to $1200, which is - per the Zu website - the current selling price for this model. In the past, I had researched the Zu website to obtain the previously listed $1800. I purchased them in early 2013 from a gentleman who said he purchased them in early 2012.

Update 2: as someone pointed out above, the phase plug on my pair are bullet-shaped vs. the current models truncated cone. These drivers are "Druid Mark IV" drivers. I got that info from Zu customer service by sending them the serial numbers & description. As I did not purchase them new, I did my best to obtain as much accurate data as I was able to procure.
