From the
legendary Albert von Schweikert here is the LCR-35. This is a fairly
large, heavy center with superb audio characteristics. I am the
original owner and this speaker has been in a smoke/child/pet free
environment.

This particular speaker comes with the extra cost optional Black Ash end caps.

The LCR-35 is a three-way speaker system using the world's finest
drivers, crossover parts, and internal wiring. The engineering target
was to design a system with the highest vocal intelligibility and
musicality. During our research, we discovered that many center channel
speakers are sibilant, colored, and lack ultimate clarity on difficult
sound tracks, especially voices. Many center speakers also have
frequency response problems off-axis, resulting in coloration being
heard by listeners not seated in the direct line of the tweeter. In
order to eliminate these problems, we conducted over a year of driver
testing and believe we have engineered the world's finest center/dialog
speaker in its price and size range. A specialized crossover and driver
mounting system was developed to radiate sound in a very wide arc, with
incredible vocal intelligibility. Imaging, sound stage depth, and
clarity are state-of-the-art due to our proprietary exotic cone
technology, low distortion motor systems, and our Global Axis
Integration Network tm. Power handling and dynamic range are beyond that
of other systems in this size and price category due to the use of
heroic drivers. We use comparisons to live musical instruments and
voices to benchmark our speaker designs; consequently the LCR-35 sounds
live! If you are interested in owning the finest dialog speaker in the
world and really care about vocal intelligibility, you will want the
LCR-35 and no other.

CABINET:
The 1" thick MDF enclosure utilizes a 2" thick front baffle and 1"
foam/felt lining. The internal bracing system is a honeycomb design with
Dacron stuffing to control bass resonance, eliminating boom and
coloration that mar other designs. Finally, a dynamic speaker without
boxy sound!

WOOFER SYSTEM:
Twin 5.5" aluminum-coned Super-Duty woofers made in Norway
reproduce the bottom octaves with authority and delicate clarity, loaded
in aperiodically damped (pressure release but sealed) chambers to
achieve response flat to 45Hz (-6dB at 30Hz). If you seek deep, powerful
bass but also want extreme bass clarity that will not color the vocal
range, you have found the right speaker.

MIDRANGE SYSTEM:
As this is the most important frequency range, over a year was
spent engineering the world's finest 4" midrange driver. To eliminate
distortion and ringing, a composite Aerogel cone made from carbon
powder, Kevlar, and cellulose acetate pulp was designed, driven by a
highly advanced edge-wound ribbon voice coil. On impulse-speed response
tests, along with distortion analyzation, this Aerogel state-of-the-art
driver measures and sounds far better than any other driver,
cost-no-object. Vocalists and lead solo instruments sound like they are
present in your room!

TREBLE SYSTEM:
The fabric dome tweeter used in the LCR-35 is one of the world's
finest units, with the highest level of clarity and detail combined with
a very smooth, lush sound quality. The rubberized silk dome is
internally coated with layers of a proprietary damping compound to
increase rigidity and eliminate flexing distortion that compromises
lesser tweeters. This driver sounds faster, more detailed, and images
better than any electrostatic tweeter we have ever tested!

CROSSOVERS and INPUTS:

A fourth-order acoustic filter is utilized at 400Hz and 3kHz to
eliminate unwanted driver overlap, often a source of coloration and
off-axis anomalies. Very expensive parts and wire are used to eliminate
the harshness and lack of detail found in competing speakers. A single
set of Cardas binding posts are provided, along with Analysis Plus
internal wire.

AVAILABLE FINISHES:
Either light or dark red cherry end caps are available with a black
fabric cloth wrap. Black ash end caps are available with extra cost and
lead-time.

LCR-35 SPECIFICATIONS:

System Type: Dynamic-driver three-way system using triple-chambered aperiodic loading.

Size: 9.5" high, 26.5" wide, and 13" deep. Enclosure construction
uses honeycomb interlocked bracing and 1" MDF walls utilizing internal
damping consisting of 1" rubber/ felt layers.

Weight: 55lbs. each, 65lbs shipping weight.

Woofer Tuning: The triple-chambered aperiodic design is a sealed box
with pressure release vents, allowing pressure to escape the enclosure
to increase dynamic range and eliminate compression. The filling is
acoustic foam and Dacron to eliminate cavity resonance effects and
coloration.

Decoupling System: The 2" thick MDF front baffle is separated and
mechanically isolated from the main enclosure by industrial rubber
adhesives. This eliminates the main source of resonance, which can color
the sound in competing designs.

Driver Complement: 2-5.5" aluminum- coned woofers, 1-4" Aerogel
composite cone midrange driver, 1- 1" fabric dome tweeter. All drivers
use our proprietary Advanced Motor System tm with low distortion. The
midrange/tweeter drivers are oriented vertically for wide dispersion.

Crossover: Acoustic fourth order, at 400Hz and 3kHz. Global Axis
Integration Network with vertically oriented midrange and tweeter
enables wide dispersion without off-axis response dips. Very high
quality parts are used, including capacitors by Solen and custom
1500-watt inductors. Wire is by Analysis Plus; binding posts are by
Cardas with rhodium and gold plate. The crossover design and driver
layout were designed specifically to increase the vocal intelligibility
of the system without compromising overall musicality.

Finally, a center
channel speaker without distortion or coloration at high volume levels!


Timbre Matching: Sonically neutral with flat frequency response, the
LCR-35 can be successfully timbre matched to a wide variety of main
left/right speaker systems. A perfect match for our VR-3.5.

Frequency Response: 45-20kHz, +/- 1.5 dB, 30Hz-25kHz -6dB (+/- 1dB at midband).

Impedance: 6 ohms avg. (4 ohms 20Hz-200Hz; 8 ohms 200Hz-20kHz).

Recommended Power: 10 watts up to 200 watts peak power.

Sensitivity: 89dB @ 1w/1m using 2.83v (in room).
