PMC TB-2+ Monitor Speakers

Oak finish. 6.5" woofer, 1" soft dome tweeter. Advanced Transmission Line design.

I’ve owned these for 7 years. These were TB2 model designation when I bought them, and I purchased the upgraded tweeter/crossover kit from PMC and updated them. Though they don’t have the “+” sticker on the back, you can tell by the soft dome tweeter (“+” sticker has now been added to model designation on rear). These come with a new back up pair of tweeters and crossovers.

Speakers work perfectly. They have a clear, wide open sound, very dynamic, and when placed with some care provide a surprising bottom end, tuneful and clean. These are easy to drive.  Solid stands are a plus.

Cosmetically there are a few issues with one speaker. It was knocked off a stand years ago and fell about two feet to land on a subwoofer. There is a small dent on the top right edge (photos) less than an inch wide; a dark scuff mark on the left front (which may be removable, but I didn’t want to cause any further trouble to the finish); a small run in the grill cloth, and the tiniest of punctures in the woofer surround. This is really tiny, as you can see in the photo where the damage is circled in red to make it visible. I repaired the tiny tear with a small amount of liquid adhesive on the rear of the woofer surround roll, making the woofer airtight once again (I was a speaker technician for some years in another life). Driver works perfectly. If you are so inclined PMC informs me woofer replacements are available at $242 each.

I’ve rated these low at 5/10 due to the dings and scuff, but they are operationally perfect.

Comes with aforementioned extra tweeter/crossover kit, and original box. I am selling these after all these years as I recently bought a pair of PMC FB1i speakers, and I only have space for a single system.
