Grand Teton Gen-2 (with a small ding).
Gen2 is everything you want from a speaker such as open, holographic, transparent, clear huge life-like scale, efficient, and musical sound.
Most importantly, Gen2 sounds pleasant, beautiful, and enjoyable with any genre of music in your home.
Gen2 is a very good low volume and near-field speaker.
Please watch Youtube video -- " WAVETOUCH AUDIO, ZENTARA " in Google.
Grand Teton is the most wanted components -2013 in Stereo Times.
Gen2 uses Neotech mono-Crystal wire (solid core teflon 99.9999% UP-OCC) and Nordost Flatline cable as internal wires. All internal wires are broken-in in a spool (>10 days) and directionalized! These cables sound open and transparent.
Gen2 sounds loud and fine in my studio (36'w x 44'L x 13'H) with 5 watts 6L6 tube amp. I know Gen2 will sound beautiful in your home whether your room is small or big, and you have 10 watts vintage receiver, 2 watts tube amp, or 500 watts SS amp.
The room acoustic is less concern with Grand Tetons. Your room doesn't need a sound treatment with Gen-2. The proof is in Youtube video.
In Stereo Times review, "I will be buying the Wavetouch Grand Tetons because they let me hear the nuances and inner fabric of the music in a way that until now I had not thought possible. There may be much more expensive speakers that can compete with the Wavetouch Grand Tetons, but I would estimate that one would need to start the search at about $20,000 and escalate from there. Very highly recommended!"
It's strange that even $30k spkrs use cheap wire inductors and sand resistors which sound harsh and grainy. Gen2 uses Jantzen foil copper inductors (better than Goertz, Alpha core, Mundorf foil inductors), AudioCaps, and Mills resistors which are found in much more expensive spkrs.
True open sound,
With conventional speakers (except horn speakers), a listener hears more incoming sounds toward to the listener from 1st reflection points of walls and ceiling. The width and height of sound stage depend on the dimension of the room. It is not a true open sound.
With Wavetouch horns, 1st reflection points on walls and ceiling are eliminated. Gen2's sound is naturally open because bounced sounds from 1st reflection points are much reduced.
Gen2's sound is truly open in a small or large room.
