On the Rocks carries the carefree bachelor motif to its ultimate conclusion. The notorious jacket portrays a woman in a bikini sitting on the ice cubes in a giant cocktail glass. Not the most original concept, but the total effect is completed by sly liner notes and a jacket blurb describing it as "for sophisticated swingers." There are several great tracks, including the original title cut; the other original is "The Little Black Box." Jacket-art collectors have made this one very hard to find, but Thompson fans hardly can do better. (AMG)
