I've since learned that these are Mahogany - a rare, premium Honduran Mahogany at that. They sure are beautiful and suitable for an estate! Room filling, rich full sound. Classic and classy. Look up the many reviews of this legend to know that its reputation clearly does precede it. Simply put, to get a big sound you need a big speaker. Well, my wife thinks they are a bit too big for our den but I'll tell you, the weight of these speakers, 175 lbs. ea., put an end to my flexing wood floors which made bass boomy heretofore. Easy to drive too, 95/96 db. & 8 ohms. Everything settled in to a very satisfying, solid presentation which you are welcome to hear when you come by to pick up (cash or SunTrust check; carry/pick-up or van required). Priced for a quick sale. Bring a helper. Truman/Atlanta Paypal adds 3%. I have a hand truck to help us. I do have the bottom foam bases and the surrounding cardboard "sleeves" but not the completing top foam. So it's suitable for local transport. - Or, hire a professional mover.

Vince I can see no significant scratches else I wouldn't have given it such a high rating.
Also, I have learned that these are indeed a true, rare Honduran Mahogany.
Vince, these are meant to serve as "your last speaker", no really....you can use most any amp you might ever have with them at 95/96 db. & 8 ohms. You can listen fairly near field since the concentric speakers integrate immediately- although they do well in a large room as well. The wood is, as I say, Estate furniture quality. ... Firm & fair pricing. |
