For sale is one set of Nearfield Acoustics Pipedreams 927’s. This set was built for CES in 2006 where the 927 was introduced. Each speaker has 9 5.25” midrange and 27 1” silk thin dome tweeters. During construction each driver was individually measured and matched within .5 db (this is one of only a few pairs in the world built with this level of care). The frequency response is 25 kHz to 45 hz. Each tower measures 6 foot and 4 inches with bases (most 927/903’s are much shorter like the other pair we have listed) this height allows for a even soundfield whether standing or sitting and a lower frequency response. The bases are black and measure 24” x 24”. As you can see in the pictures this pair has grills, a rarity for Pipedreams. The box of the 927 is very advanced with phenolic and composite construction material, a curved back for decreased internal reflections and a large amount of internal bracing. A Pipedreams active crossover is included. They are crated and will need to ship by freight.
Questions for the seller |

I've never seen a review of these 927s do you know of any?Did you sell the depth and do you need a sub with these? George,
Thanks for the interest and sorry for the wait in getting back you this is my crazy time of year. I ran pipe dreams for five years. Every pipe dreams model number ( model 15, 18, 21, 927, 930) represented the number of drivers ( so there all reviews were of the sam thing minus the subs for the 930 927). All models used the same tweeter and audax drivers. The 927 uses a 5.25" instead of a 4” which allowed it to go down a little lower so it did not come with subs. I am going to dig around I believe in 2006 when this pair was at CES there was some kind of review done. I would also recommend going to youtube and looking up the pipe dreams video it has some great information and seeing if you can hear a pair as a review really does not do them justice. |
