I have a pair of KAS’s for sale along with an EPX center speaker. I love these speakers but Im downsizing and need the room. These are the second generation KAS with the vertical port. KAS pair $8995
EPX $2500, Bubinga veneer is the finish
The EPX center has two 10" woofers, two 5 1/4" mids and a matching dome tweeter.
EPX measures 45 x 18 x 18
KAS measures 70 x 21 x 21
These are incredible speakers. Ive owned the best including Vandersteen 5s, B&W Nautilus 800, JM Lab Utopia etc. The Montana is superb in all facets...sound, build quality, internal parts. These are truly a hand built and assembled piece, point to point soldering on capacitors, drivers, etc.

George I have used several different amps with Montanas. They are easy to drive. Specifically Levinson 336, Pass X600s, Canary Reference Ones, Bryston 28BSST's. They are approximately 9 years old. They are the latest design of the original KAS before the 2. I haven't used them in 5 years because I moved to a smaller house and didn't have the room. They have been wrapped in plastic. Finish is a really dark metallic purple. They look black unless in direct light. Very good shape. I don't want to sell them because I know I will never find another pair but financial my financial situation forces me to. These were 28K when I bought them. |
