JBL 4425 _Very beautiful looking & sounding JBL

These are my reference speakers having been working in tandem with Townshend supertweeters and Velodyne DD12 Plus: these three together give incredible sound. The wood work looks very beautiful, smooth and glossy. You can hardly find another more beautiful pair. Yes, the bottoms have scratches but you won't see them. 7/10 rating is not fair enough (if you don't consider the bottom). These are beautiful vintage JBL. Most important is the sound. When working together with the Townshend and Velodyne the sound is absolutely beautiful even when driven by my 8 watts Audio Note Kit One 300B amps. These JBL are so easy to drive and sound so good, esp. when working with supertweeters and subwoofer. The JbL are mid-band champs. To give you an idea about the capability of these JBL, let me tell this story. A couple of months ago I bought a pair of Harbeth SHL5 35th Anniversary Edition ($3800) on audiogon, hoping to replace my JBL. When the Harbeth arrived within a few minutes I knew I was wrong. The JBL (with supertweeters & sub) has better transparency, dynamics, and musicality (by just using 8 watts of my Audio Note Kit One 300B) than the Harbeth. Within one week I sold the Harbeth. Compared to my Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy 7, the JBL with Townshend and Velodyne has faster transient response and wider sound stage, though the Wilson's sound stage is a bit deeper. And the JBL is easier to drive since you can just use a subwoofer to handle the low frequencies. You will be thrilled with these JBL. Price is firm for these amazing JBL.
