The stars have aligned for a once in a lifetime chance to bid on this rare eleven month old AudioKinesis Jazz Module 2.0 by Duke Lejeune, meeting all AG criteria for mint condition, from a certified AK dealer, with full warranty as new. This pair has solid walnut front baffle with round-over corners (see image), a $1k/pair extra cost upgrade, hence the $6k/pair MSRP (standard cost is veneered baffle/square corners). JM 2.0 is refinement of Duke’s legendary original Jazz Module. JM 2.0 is also the front half of the ground breaking “Dream Maker LCS” employing Late Ceiling Splash reverberant field theories of Dr. Floyd Toole and Dr. Earl Geddes. Original JM comprised one half/front drivers of original Dream Maker, which won 2008 TAS Golden Ear Award. Dealer/seller shall deliver your new speakers to Duke who lives twenty-five minute drive north, who will crate and ship your new JM 2.0 to any point on the globe (buyer pays seller's actual cost to crate, ship, and insure). Original JM is a cult classic and one of the most highly desired loudspeakers. Both Original JM and JM 2.0 employ special input binding posts for a wide range of treble output adjustment (open posts = minimum treble, shorted posts = maximum treble, resistors = in-between). The horn in this system acts as wave-guide to ideally match both driver radiation patterns in the pass band. Duke LeJeune worked with Dr. Earl Geddes, wave guide patent holder and Distributed Subwoofer Array expert. JM 2.0 rear corners have large 45-degree angle. 2.0 upgrades to improve reverberant field and spatial qualities: More refined wave guide for increased radiation control Rear-firing compression driver in circular wave guide Rear ports located to add rear-firing mid-range energy Sale includes four plugs for air tight seal of the system’s four ports (two per speaker). Users minimize their room’s bass mode effects by running all four ports open, all sealed, or any combination thereof. But there’s more: this system has a special binding post pair for SS or tube “transfer function.” In a nutshell, it works. Short these posts for tubes, or open them to imbue SS amps with much of what makes tubes desirable: increased image density and spatial effects, musical rightness, and general listening pleasure. If that’s not enough, JM 2.0 requires only 10W tube amp. Our 2013 Rocky Mountain Audio Fest Show demo employed Atma-Sphere 30 watt OTL. At 2014 Newport THE Show we used 10-12W tube amp driving JM 2.0's smaller sibling, the Zephrin 46. JM 2.0 sensitivity is low 90 dB range, a flat 8 Ohm load above the bass, 6 Ohm minimum, and easy phase angles. High quality pro sound drivers allow up to 500W SS. Bass cutoff is in the high 30 Hz range with true 20kHz treble extension. Long term pride of ownership results from a wide array of user-defined adjustments for any listening room, spectral preference, or partnering components. No software learning curve, no screen, no keyboard, and no hardware to re-boot. All tuning adjustments are physical, electro-mechanical, and easily repeatable. JM 2.0 approaches transparency of the world’s best electrostatic loudspeakers, has superb wide range dynamic punch, no “cupped hands” effect common to horns, and the industry’s widest range of user-defined adjustments. After eight months of continuous use seller detects no audible crossover artifact, where the world’s best controlled-directivity systems such as this have the edge over systems lacking such feature. Seller is full time music/audio professional with more hands on experience with this speaker than anyone else, and happy to reply to any concern pre or post sale, generally available for twelve hours seven days per week, or off hours for overseas buyers. Please add 3% for CONUS Paypal, 4% for overseas Paypal. You will love these loudspeakers! Happy listening! Note: JM 2.0 can be upgraded to full Dream Maker LCS by adding separate new LCS 2.0 speakers, $2900/pr MSRP.
