Audio Physic Scorpio 25

These Audio Physic Scorpio 25 speakers (matched pair) in cherry are up for sale. The “25” designation from Audio Physic came with very significant upgrades over the “non 25” versions. As a matter of fact, I owned the, at that time current version, Audio Physic Virgos before I got the Scorpio 25s. The Scorpio 25 was one level down from the Virgos in the Audio Physic line, but the sound was significantly better then those, at that time, non-25 version current Virgos. In other words, the 25 version of the Scorpio beat out the regular version of the Virgo. They are shaped beautifully and, as in my house, even look good in a living room.

I am the original and only owner and user. They are in virtually mint condition in every way from what I see and hear, have only been played by me, and never at excessive volumes. They have been cared for with high quality lemon oil for wood furniture twice. They have never needed or been repaired in any way and probably have about 300 to 400 hours of listening time on them. (I listen for one to three hours one day in a week when I do listen, but may not for several weeks in a row.) If I am not mistaken they are about 3 years old but I can double check if you need that. They have been in the living room of my smoke free house since new and are only being sold to move up in the Audio Physic line. The Scorpio 25 has excellent bass, going lower then the Tempo 25 or Virgo 25, according to specks, are more efficient then either, at 91db, and are capable of reproducing fluid music with exceptional detail, clarity, three dimensionality, and realism. I use tubes and even the 24bit Beatles music sounds incredible through them, lifelike and with a huge amount of presence. (I used to have solid state equipment and they sound great with that too. I just prefer tubes overall with any speakers.) Made in Germany, they are the one speaker I have owned, that I never even considered replacing with another brand. They have been handled well and kept in a relatively stable temperature and humidity environment. They work in near field and standard listening rooms. (Though I don't use them this way, they are the best at near field listening that I have ever heard.)

I don't know what else to say about them. If you are looking at this, you know how good Audio Physic is. They are not super highly marketed and pushed like some brands, but anyone who has listened to them knows that some level of Audio Physic speakers should be on anyones short list. They easily surpass the “popular” brands in sound and build quality and I have to say, are the best of all the top brands I have heard in anywhere near their list price range.

I am in NJ, making pick-up from NJ, NY or even PA or CT very easy (even Boston and DC are each only 5 hours away if you rather pick them up then have them sent), but I have all original boxes and packing should you want them shipped with insurance. Weight of 55 lbs is per box. Shipping can be by Fedex or UPS if they accept them (I think they will), a trucking company (which will most likely be less, or picked up in person.

They come with grills that cover the front three drivers. Mine are unused. I put them away for safety since I don't use grills, and just have to remember where I put them. If I can't, I'll get you new proper grills from Audio Physic.
