OVERVIEW
For sale is one Wavelength Audio Brick DAC v2 with external mortar power supply. This contains the Transcendental version and can easily be upgraded to 24/96 for only $250. The only reason I am selling this is to purchase the Wavelength Cosecant DAC.

Wavelength Audio products are designed by Gordon Rankin, the highly regarded inventor of the asynchronous DAC, whose patented Streamlength design is also incorporated into many of the best DACs available today at their respective prices, such as the Ayre QB9, AudioQuest Dragon-Fly (5 different 2012 product of the years awards), grace m903, etc. Please visit Wavelengh's USB DAC site for all of the many awards they have one:

QUEST FOR ENJOYABLE MUSIC VIA DIGITAL
Ever since 1985, when I sold my Denon DP-62L turntable and hundreds of records to jump on the digital bandwagon, I have been searching for a digital component that could leverage the strengths of digital (signal to noise ratio, dynamic range, ease of use, 'perfect sound forever,' etc) while avoiding its weaknesses (high frequency 'hardness' from jitter and other digital distortions). I have tried discs from audiophile companies like MFSL, DCC, Audio Fidelity, and improved high resolution technologies like SACD and DVD-Audio, but the overall sound of vinyl - with its strengths and weaknesses - was less fatiguing and more enjoyable than digital. Because of this, I bought a vintage turntable a few years ago and started collecting albums again. Then I heard the Wavelength Brick.

WAVELENGTH AUDIO BRICK DAC
Somehow, the Brick brought out the inherent strengths of digital, but was able to minimize the weaknesses of the digital medium. When I ripped regular CDs and played them through the Brick, my digital files were now comparable to vinyl - some slightly better and most were slightly worse, but I never thought regular CDs could sound so darn good. Add into the equation that I have nearly 1000 discs and less than 100 albums, and the ease of digital playback, and I was hooked. I bought a Mac Mini and the Wavelength Brick (actually 2 Bricks!) and purchased dozens of audiophile CDs from my favorite artists. I ripped all of my CDs to my Mac Mini and have been enjoying digital sound reproduction more than ever before. I still enjoy vinyl immensely, but digital music sounds so much better than I ever thought it could, that I now enjoy listening to digital music for hours on end. You can find 167 of my audiophile CDs for sale on another listing. By the way, I have always been hesitant to purchase any gear with tubes, as turning them off and on repeatedly can limit their lifespan, but the Wavelength DACs do not have a power switch. They are always on standby until a signal is sent from your computer. Because of this, the tube lasts 8+ years.

REVIEWS
There are many reviewers and others who love the Wavelength DACs as much as I do. In fact, if you examine the list of 'Best of Show' awards over the last few years, you will find one of the Wavelength Audio DACs often included. For testimonials on the Wavelength Cosecant - one step up from the Brick - from some of the most respected reviewers (Art Dudley from Stereophile, Staephen from 6moonsaudio, Enjoy the Music), please visit Audio Revelation for a summary of these reviews.

- IMHO, the most comprehensive review of the Brick can be found on the audiostream website:

- Computer Audiophile provides an excellent review of Wavelength DACs in general during their review of the Wavelength Proton DAC:

Stereophile Magazine was also very impressed by the Brick v2 as it was listed in their "Recommended Components" with a Class A rating - one of the least expensive DACs in their best category. The Brick is not the only outstanding DAC available through Wavelength Audio, as the Cosecant ($3,500) won The Absolute Sound's Editor's Choice Award. When Stereophile reviewed the Cosecant, John Atkinson observed the lowest jitter (digital distortion due to timing errors) that he had ever measured on any DAC. Obviously, the Brick benefits from the same technology as the Cosecant, but it does not have its modular construction, as many black gate capacitors, etc, so it is more affordable. The only reason I am selling the Brick is to move up to the Cosecant.

SHIPPING AND INSURANCE
Included is the Power Supply with DC Cable, AC Cable, USB Cable and original Wavelength Operating Instructions. I do not have the original box but this item will be very well packed. I will pay for shipping, insurance (in CONUS), as well as the 3% Paypal fee if this item is purchased for my asking price. Otherwise, the buyer will be responsible for these fees. I have received several requests to ship these overseas, but I cannot ship them anywhere but within the US.
