If you want a FABULOUS sounding dac then please consider this unit. This was John's last Exception PROTOTYPE before going into full production. The only difference is this unit has an aluminum chassis instead of steal and minor internal differences. John told me this was about 95% as good as his production models. It looks just like the regular production models and is in perfect shape. Sounds Beautiful! However, as stated above if you want in the big leagues of DACs then get this unit. The production Exceptions retail for $4,000 but stack up against the best out there. This is a bargain. This dac sounds extremely MUSICAL not edgy and sharp. The unit is silver.
