Berkeley Audio Design Alpha DAC, original Series 2, not an upgraded Series 1. Rated 9 of 10. I have upgraded and no longer need this awesome unit. Robert Harley, editor of TAS, was greatly impressed by this unit, indicating that, "It is my outboard converter of choice for both CD and high-resolution sources—regardless of price". There are nothing but universally glowing reviews on this unit. Series 2 out performs series 1 units by a VERY wide margin. Check all the review to confirm this.
