Immaculate Audiomat 24/192 Meastro2 DAC, with external power supply.

Big discount: almost $2,700 off retail – that’s a 37% discount on this ultra high-end DAC. Audiomat DACs rarely come up for sale. This is the upgraded Maestro2 with external power supply. Mine was purchased new in Canada in late 2012. I am the original owner. It is in perfect condition. It is rated 9 because it is used-- Just to be cautious.

New retail price on this unit is currently $8990 Canadian. It is selling right now
in Paris at High End Audio for 6200 Euros (that’s $6,705 USD). At this great price, buyer must pay for shipping.

Specs: 24 bit/192 kHz, DAC Chips: 4x Burr Brown PMC 1794, 3 digital inputs: Coaxial, Optical, and AES/EBU-XLR ( all 24 bit/ 192 kHZ), 4 analog outputs; left & amp; right RCA (unbalanced) and left * amp; right XLR (balanced),

PSU: External Power Supply

Note I am also selling the accompanying gear from my system (not yet posted on CAM): my CEC TL3N CD Transport, which is a perfect match for the Maestro DAC; an M2Tech HiFace Evo with external power supply; and also two Actinote interconnect cables: the Aria (balanced) which I use to connect transport to DAC, and Aria digital (Evo to DAC)

This unit does not come with a power cable. I bought a high end power cable for this unit, and so did not even receive a starter AC cable.
I will ship in the original box – and will add extra Styrofoam as needed to ship as
safely as possible.

REVIEWS:

Nelson Brill, Stereo Times (glowing review of the older Maestro1): “The Maestro
presented a truly visceral, tactile and engaging musical experience of the most
genuine kind I have heard from this wide range of vocalists… The Maestro is at
the pinnacle of what I have heard from digital playback utilizing the criterion
of musical engagement in my favorite recordings, and the delight in discovery
that it brings… Take a listen to the Maestro. It will transport you to Mary
Oliver’s creative vision of that figure across the pond “clasped in meditation”
or join in the joyous abandon of Zeitlin’s musical vision and ride.”

Lionel Schmitt on the Maestro2: "The Drive D1 and Maestro 2 converter (DAC) constitute an indivisible whole which delivers a compelling and heartfelt musicality
of a purity that is both troubling and insistent: giving you sensations that are
completely new. The D1 and Maestro2 go to the source of things: they will draw
you very far into every nuance, the smallest subtlety, to express them
faithfully to the listener. Each element is technically very successful, and we
can scarcely imagine all the patience it must have taken the designers to achieve
this exact point - the ultimate musical goal is perfect agreement!”

High End Audio review on the Maestro2: "The Maestro 2 takes the Audiomat torch from the Meastro Reference with dignity... to represent the prestigious Audiomat brand the very upscale DAC market… The Maestro 2 approaches the famous Maestro Reference DAC in musicality and transparency, and this at a much more affordable price.

What is there to ponder seriously when we know that the quality/price ratio of Maestro Reference is already considered excellent by leading specialists in high end audio?…It seems obvious that the Maestro 2 is
much closer to the Maestro Reference than its predecessor (the Maestro 1). In
listening to the Maestro 2, in fact, we find everything or almost everything
that makes the Audiomat flagship model so magical. At this price level, it
would be a shame to deprive yourself...”

UHF Magazine on the older Maestro 1: “There is a lot to like in this admirable
converter. Not many audiophiles will consider it truly affordable, but in an
odd way it offers tremendous value. The recommended CEC TL51X transport is a
mere US$1290… Put one together with the Maestro…and you have a player that can challenge the state of the art. Do the math. If you want to hear everything that the wonderful Recital can do, you won't want a source less capable than this one. So can you get one for less money? As the Magic 8-Ball used to say, 'signs point to no.'
