If you're looking at this ad I'm sure you can guess that, despite being some years old [oldest reviews online are from '06], this is a solid piece, typical of McIntosh quality. The unit is in very good shape, but I've rated 7/10 due to one very small nick on the aluminum frame [pictured]. I won't go on about the sound since reviews abound online, but I will say that I have read even recently of people swapping out their new Oppo BDP-105s for the MVPs because they prefer the sound of the Burr Brown DAC chip over the newer Sabre. If you want something to spin CDs, and you want it to be attractive and built like a tank, this is certainly worth a look and a listen.

I have the remote/manual/power cord and the original double boxes it came in for shipping, though of course a pickup in or around SE Pennsylvania would be ideal. I'll cover Paypal or credit card fees is my asking price is met, and I would ask that the actual shipping charge be added in the event it had to be shipped. We ship extensively at work, so I would be able to make use of a good UPS discount rate.

Thanks for looking.

Questions for the seller
Hi, Are you the original owner of this unit and can you say how old it actually is? Has it ever been serviced? Evidently it was dropped to cause that dent? Are all aspects of this unit working as originally designed, is there anything other than the dent to cause you to rate it at a "7"? Thanks very much.
Hi. I am not the original owner. I bought the unit in March of 2009 from a fellow Audiogoner. So I have certainly had it for *most* of its life. The dent was there when it was sold to me, and I knew about it when I bought it. The player is pretty heavy, so I think if it was dropped [like, straight-up DROPPED], it would result in much more than a little ding. That said, I do not know what caused it. The player has served me flawlessly for six years, so have never had it serviced. I recently put the player on US Audio Mart for $100 less, so this far into a 30-day listing, I am open to negotiating. I would lower the asking price on this listing, but I got a straight-up lowball offer the first day I had it up, which I refused, and apparently you can not edit the listing after an offer has been made. Kind of annoying. Anyway, please let me know what you think of all this when you have a moment. The player is packed up ready to go. Thanks for looking! Chris
