This is the latest MP version of the highly regarded Ayre SACD player. The unit is in MINT condition, I don’t see any scratches or blemishes. I rate it a 9/10 on Audiogon’s conservative rating scale because it is used. Please see my feedback to see what I mean by MINT condition.
The sound of this player is exceptional. It is/was a reference player for MANY audio reviewers, including John Atkinson, the editor of Stereophile. It was also Stereophile’s product of the year. It is a Class A+ Stereophile Recommended Component. The original retail price was $6000.
The only CD-player that I have ever heard sound better than the Ayre Acoustics is a player from EMM Labs at more than double the price.
I am the second owner and the player came to me as an MP. I have included a picture of the back of the unit with the serial number so that anyone who would like to find out its exact age and whether it was upgraded to MP or original may do so.
It comes with the original metal remote control, box, power cord, and packaging. You can download the owner’s manual at Ayre’s website.
