Audio Refinement CD Complete Brushed Silver

This is the original version of the CD Complete, with the brushed aluminum fascia. Very good fit and finish; 18-bit D/A converter; high-quality analogue components; Teflon and gold-plated stereo RCA outs; CD playback only. Second owner; the unit was well cared for and lightly used in recent years. Professionally cleaned and aligned at the time I originally acquired it from a fellow Audiogoner.

The sound quality is detailed with a realistic presentation of instruments. An excellent player for contemporary jazz and acoustic music. Cosmetically in very good condition, but downgraded due to age and a performance issue described below.

Quote from the owner's manual:

"If the CD player has been exposed to extreme cold, allow it to reach room temperature (30 minutes) before use. This will allow potential condensation to evaporate."

In my experience:

(1) This player must be powered on and allowed to warm up for at least 30 minutes prior to the start of every listening session.

(2) On first play, the Open button may have to be pressed two or three times before the tray will open.

(3) The first disc inserted may require more than one open/close sequence before the player will read it.

(4) Thereafter, for the rest of the listening session, the tray will open and the player will read and play discs without difficulty.

Since posting this ad, I have tested it every morning, running through the sequence described above. The player will operate correctly after it is fully warmed up, but it requires patience. Recommended primarily to audio collectors and those with the expertise to do their own servicing and maintenance. Local purchasers may audition the player.

Player comes in the original box, with the original remote, owner's manual, promotional literature and IEC power cord. I will reinforce the packaging for FedEx regular ground shipment.
