This is the famous Bottlehead Crack OTL headphone amplifier built to a very high standard. It looks and sounds fantastic. If you own a pair of Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 headphones, then you really owe it to yourself to listen to this wonderful amp. It pairs beautifully with the Sennheiser cans, but also mates well with other high impedance headphones from manufacturers like Beyerdynamic and AKG. I've given this amp an upgraded finish from by previous builds. The top plate has been painted a gloss gray, and the transformer bell a gloss white. The top edges of the base are beveled and the base itself is finished with an espresso stain and several coats of gloss polyurethane. In addition to the right-angle RCA adapters and the right-angle power cord, I've also added a set of smart looking gold isolation cones to finish it off. The volume pot has been modified based on a suggestion by Bottlehead's own Paul Birkeland. The mod increases the useable range of the pot and corrects the channel imbalance at low volume levels. It works wonderfully with my Sennheiser HD600's and in my opinion, is a must-have mod. This build also features Bottlehead's Speedball upgrade and comes equipped with the stock set of tubes.
