This auction is for a Working AKAI GX-230D Reel To Reel Tape Recorder serial number ---> 30221-07301. This AKAI Reel to Reel features GX Forward Play, GX Reverse Play, and a Combination GX Recording and Erase Head, as well as a 3 Motor System including an AC Servo Motor for Direct Capstan Drive. This deck operates at 3-3/4 and 7-1/2 speeds and has a working auto reverse that allows for playback in both directions but features a working one way recording operation. Fast Forward and Reverse work in both directions. All buttons and switches are present, It has all 4 feet for playing in the flat position and the top has the pegs for holding a cover. There are few minor character rubs and even though it plays well it should still have a service. This unit will come with a take up reel, a new in the box Mylar Dupont 1200ft concert tape and both the Operator's and Service Manual on CD in PDF Format.
