Skiing Ninja Master x-ls Encore Monitors Fully Custom - Price DROP

I have for you a one of a kind pair of New x-ls Encore Ninja Master speakers.  From these speakers you can expect excellent imaging and low level detail, well defined bass, and a really sweet midrange.  They are perfect for small and medium rooms.  I've driven them with a 38 watt 5881-based tube amp and lI have for you a one of a kind pair of New x-ls Encore Ninja Master speakers.  From these speakers you can expect excellent imaging and low level detail, well defined bass, and a really sweet midrange.

These began as the prototypes for something we were internally calling "Ninja Punk". A bit Steampunk and a generous dose of Ninja. We had some really cool stuff planned for these and even have most of the components in stock for the first run. 


As we have decided to close Skiing Ninja Systems (bit at the bottom as to why), we have decided to make these available as non-punk speakers with a completely custom finish. 


I formulated the color myself and it is not available anywhere else. The speakers were shot in a booth with a base/clear system - and the clear is Glasurit 923-109. Those in the biz know that this clear imported from Germany is one of the top of line clears available anywhere. It looks awesome! If it is good enough for a 200+mph car, I think it will hold up nicely here :)

The X-LS Ninja Master Encore is an 8 ohm load and has 87db sensitivity. The -3db down point is 55Hz. The low 1.8kHz crossover point allows for a great driver integration and consistent phase relationship of the drivers over a wide vertical range. The vertical and horizontal off axis is excellent so the in-room response is very smooth and consistent.

The frequency response is as smooth as +/-1.5db and better than +/-1 through most of its range.

Vertical off axis response shows a great phase relationship over a very wide range. 

The spectral decay is also extraordinarily clean.

And the impedance curve shows a nominal 8 ohm load, and 43Hz tuning.

The T26SG is a low resonance one inch HYPERTEX Dome Tweeter made by Peerless India.  It uses an especially designed Hypertex surround material, which is light, durable & yet flexible enables for low resonance.  It uses a special hollow pole piece that provides good acoustic coupling to the rear chamber.  The rear chamber wall is formed as a concave protrusion, which prevents standing waves and increase stiffness.   

Woofer:  

The M-165 has a curvilinear cone allowing a smooth roll off into the higher frequencies ranges.This woofer has a very smooth mid-range and great bass response. The M-165 is vented below the spider, has a bumped back plate, polymer chassis, lightweight treated paper composite cone with new curvilinear shape

These are set up basically the same as the x-ls Encore Ninja Master speakers that won the small speaker shootout at StereoMojo.com several years ago. 

Now, you notice I said prototype up there. That means these aren't cosmetically perfect. 


There are other small dirt nibs here and there but all very small. You can sand and polish to make those all look perfect if you like. Also, the builder of these cabinets placed the wall seams incorrectly and I didn't fix the appearance well enough before painting. You will see this in photo #4. Note that it is cosmetic only and you can't see it in normal lighting. In the photo where you can see it (#4), I have 1000 watts of lighting shining. Finally, in photo #5 you can see the slight warble where the clear ran. This can be sanded and polished out if you wish but it is minor and on the back. 


Those were $1000/pr in a standard finish (absolutely worth it) + ~$600 in paint materials and labor = $1600/pr 


Absolutely worth it at $749. 


These are 28lbs each! 


Though the business has closed, I will warranty them for three years and Danny at GR Research has has good stock of the drivers. 


A note on the closing of Skiing Ninja Systems:  As you may or may not know, Skiing Ninja Systems has closed its doors. Mrs. Ninja's health continues to decline and something has to give. Skiing Ninja was open for business for around eight years and we lament its loss.
