I have a pair of vintage "Lansing Signature" speakers for sale. I am the SECOND owner. Best I can tell from my research, they're C37 Rhodes (possibly "Lo Boys?") from as early as the late 1950s. They feature the "030" configuration (D130 15" driver, 075 'bullet' tweeter, and N2400 crossover) in 'vented' enclosures. They're 100% functional, and sound amazing. It would seem as though these are exceedingly rare. A pair of these in similar condition (from the pictures) recently sold in for 400,000 yen [nearly $5k U.S.].
I will enlist UPS to professionally pack and ship them--buyer pays actual shipping +$20 handling. [Contact me WITHIN THREE DAYS of end of auction if you live within 200 miles of St. Louis, and we can DISCUSS possible delivery.] **NOTE: These speakers weigh approx. 80 lbs EACH and are 36"x28"x18" (all before packing/shipping materials). SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE CONSIDERABLE. Please consider this when bidding.**
According to Audiogon's description, they're a 7/10, but to compare them to ANY other set of 50+ year old speakers, they're in exceptional condition. After all these years, I could only find two blemishes, which I documented. (The black mark is NOT deep, and could LIKELY be removed by a trained hand. Please see the pics for details.) Otherwise, I only hope I'm in as good of shape when I reach their age! (I have additional pics if anyone would like to have a look...) I'd love these to go to a loving home. However, PLEASE only bid if you're ready and able to complete the purchase and take ownership of these treasures!
Thanks, Brian
