NOTE: FOR $180 YOU WILL RECIEVE AN UPGRADED CARVER C9 UNIT WITH BASIC UPGRADES. Pick the ADDITIONAL  upgrades you want, and then determine final price. That is about as simple as I can put it. I just got this unit in today. I have already removed the circuit board, since that is the first step to upgrading a unit. Before I continue, please note, this is a rare unit. Maybe not a big deal, but has an internal switch to select voltage. Other units have this option, but a tech has to rewire the ac input to change the voltage input. In this unit, you can take off the top, select the voltage, and then replace the top. I have only had two of these units in my shop in 4 years.

In case you have wondered, I have been selling these units for 4 years. I can only say that number is in the dozens. To date, not ONE unit has had a complaint or ever been returned. Having said that, it is easy for me to guarantee your complete satisfaction, or a full refund can be quickly made (um yah, you still pay shipping).

 Ok, let’s get down to business. I have a couple of upgrades that will be done regardless of the additional choices that you make. First, there really is no sense in upgrading a unit without replacing the old electrolytic capacitors, period. If they aren’t bad yet, they will be soon enough. Besides, there are choices of much better products out there and they just don’t cost that much. Capacitor replacement is $20, which is included in the basic $180 price.

  Replacing some basic components to adjust the circuit for best performance will also be done for the basic price. The $15 cost is included.

  RCA jacks are included in the basic price. Take a look at the photo of the corroded originals. Then take a look at the bunch of solder to secure them to the circuit board, and this becomes clear as to why this is a no brainer. The $50 cost is included in the $180 price.

  So I guess that you can buy the unit for $180, and be pretty happy about it. Or, you can add a few more options to get a little more performance from this unit. Take a look at the other C9 unit that I am offering here on A’gon. It has some additional upgrades that you might want to consider. A separate power supply, in a separate chassis can be added for $60. If you choose that option, I will do a couple more upgrades included for free. You will essentially be getting close to a level 3 upgrade for $240. Pricing on these units is so tight, that I don’t have much room to bargain, but it is easy to promise that you are getting great deal. This is basically a break even type hobby for me.

 I will add some more photos soon, so you can see the condition of the chassis, which will be cleaned up, maybe even the top being repainted. (There is some paint spatter on the top lid, so it is just easier to repaint).
