The Wave is battery powered only, disperses out 3 sides, dimensions are 12" h  4" w 4" d. , requires 2 AA battery's which should last 6months non stop operation or you can simply switch it off when not in use and get up to 2 years on the batterys. The wave conditions the air your speaker sound waves travel through to get to your listening position [standing sound waves, ambient noise, controls spintronics ] all these conditions can cause problems for the audio sound wave to pass through.
