Product better than advertised, and worth every penny! Terrific service from a sterling seller!

Shipped very quickly. Great product that made a very worthy improvement in my system. Even though my preamp required two fuses, I would still deem this a VERY cost effective tweak when considering the big improvement it made.

We have a Qol and a Resonator, both professional musicians we need things to sound real! I can hardly believe the improvement in quality of sound, image, depth... What a stunning product, they put the cherry and sprinkles on top of our musical dessert! Thanks so much!

“Joseph, Same attributes as my loom of AH fuses, palpable, organic, transparent with excellent dimensionality in soundstage width and depth; SR20 are much flatter and thin sounding in comparison.”

Johnnyb43
“Hi Joseph, I just wanted to let you know I got the fuse in the mail yesterday, I put it into my power amp and decided to listen to some records all I can say is WOW!!!! I heard details I never heard before and the musical tone of the vocals and instruments were really clear and much more natural in sound. Great product. Thanks very much.”

Dkys
“I was away from home for about a week and I was pleased to see your package arrived when I came back. As promised, here is my initial comments after trying the Audio Horizons fuse for about a week.

“After switching out a Hi Fi Tuning fuse with a Audio Horizons Fuse into my CAT SL-1 Preamp, the immediate effect is that the sound of instruments has become more solid with a bigger sound stage. It sounded like the volume has been turned up a notch. The better instrument definition helped improved depth and separation. I find the effect to be quite similar to putting an isolation transformer before the preamp, though to a lesser extent. I do not know how such a small fuse could induce such effect.

“Once this fuse settles, I would certainly try to order a few more for the other equipment to see how much further can be improved.”

Kleonard
“It was great. Much more detail, and openness. I may order some more for my Mark Levinson amp, I just have to figure out which fuses I need.”

Ken_st
“These fuses of Joseph's do indeed improve the sound as others have said- a contender for 'best in their class', and fairly priced.”

"Audio Horizons Fuses"

"I can now report that there is actually something real concerning the controversial issue of "Audiophile Fuses", at least in the case of the Audio Horizons ("AH") fuse that I (and an associate) have auditoned in my own system. The positive results we experienced were somewhat of a surprise to both of us. . . .

"Experiment One- The Coincident Line Stage

"My associate and I both heard the same sonic improvements. They were easily noticeable and they were confirmed with an A/B/A comparison. With the AH fuse installed, the sound was cleaner and less homogenized. The sound-floor became even lower and the music had a more solid feel to it. (It was similar to what is heard when the VTF is increased after it was originally set too low.) Because of all this, a greater amount of musical complexity is revealed. The degree of these improvements is similar to a serious cable change, and just as important on a high resolution system and/or familiar music. The Bottom Line- I can't go back to the "standard fuse" after living with these improvements.

"Experiment Two- The Jadis JP-80 Phono Stage

"The improvements were definitely noticeable, and similar in type, but around 70% in degree. As for the details, the background "hash" (already ultra-low) was reduced as before, though this time there was also a reduction in thermal noise ("hiss") as well; a quieter background that should even be able to be measured. In the end, I liked what I heard (or didn't hear) and I once again couldn't go back to the standard fuses. . . .

"Conclusion and My Advice

"These fuses are for real. They should make a noticeable improvement on any serious system, especially if acoustical music is being played. They are expensive in relative terms, but they also provide an unusually large improvement relative to their cost. . . ."

would post this on my site, but the site is going through a major upgrade and the Web developer asked me not to make any changes until the upgrade is complete. So...
Fuse "upgrades" never really turned me on (pun intended). I have tried after market fuses from AMR, Audio Magic, and Synergistics and each was an improvement over stock fuses. In our world of small improvements in sound for often large outlays of money, these fuses all offer worthwhile and cost-effective improvements in sound quality. The resulting sound is noticeably better than with stock fuses installed.
This week, I installed Audio Horizons Platinum Reference fuses in my Acoustic Imagery Atsah amplifiers. If a stock fuse was rated a baseline "1", a Synergistics fuse could be rated "3". On this comparative scale, the Audio Horizons Platinum Reference fuse would be rated about "12". The improvements in resolution, soundstage, and natural harmonic presentation with the Audio Horizons fuses are dramatic and instantly obvious.
I didn't believe it. I mean, come ON, from a FUSE?! So I re-installed the SA 20 fuses and really did not want to listen with the attendant decrease in overall sound quality, including a flatter sound stage and loss of clarity.
At $115 each, these fuses are not only cost-effective, they are a steal. A similar upgrade in the performance level of a preamplifier, for example, would cost several thousand dollars.
Happy holidays to all, and good listening!
Regards,
JerryS

“The Audio Horizons fuses replaced my Synergistic fuses in my mono block amps and line stage. Rather than a subtle change I immediately heard an improvement in focus of voices and instruments, better sound staging and at the same time more realistic timbre. They are well worth it. Thanks again!

“I would like to place another order.”

SimonT of Spectron Audio wrote:

“I am simply in love with your fuses. Pure and simple. I want to buy now one for Spectron amp and if it will perform as I expect then I will start the push for using it in "Limited Editions" amplifiers. Later on I will place order for my DAC too and anything else I will find....

“P.S. I always believed in ‘better’ fuses where signal jumps and losses its characteristics but yours are way above my experience so far..... Congratulations!!!”

“There are several choices one could make in the Ref fuse market. Being in the hobby for at least 2/3 of my life (40 years), I have an intuitive sense of something that’s worth trying in my system. I installed 7 Audio Horizon Ref Fuses 3 in each Mono 1 in the Pre amp then let the music play for a while to let things settle in. To say that I'm pleased with the results is a gross understatement. To be brief, the one best word I came up with is "Relaxed." The system is so musical with no grain, increased resolution and perfect linearity. I’m in Heaven!!! Kudos to Joseph Chow!!!!”

“Who would have thought a fuse could have this effect?”

Bazzawrote:

“The audition of these fuses has been a positive discovery in the magnitude of acoustically treating my sound room. My fuse journey began with the original gold Hi-Fi Tuning fuse, then to their Supreme fuse, then to the Synergistics Research SR20, and now to the Audio Horizons “More than a fuse”. Each change in fuses resulted in an upgrade, at least I thought. It turns out that the installation of the AH fuse has exposed the weakness of the SR20. By comparison it is now too bright in my system; not the “lit from within” nature that the QOL Signal Completion Stage gives but a slight projection of the highest frequencies in front of the speakers, separate from the other frequencies. The AH fuse is balanced and neutral while offering the best micro and macro dynamics of all of the fuses I’ve tried. I have a PS Audio P10 power regenerator with reference level power conditioners plugged into it for my sources and preamp so I know that my components are getting quality AC power. The significant impact of the AH fuses suggest that the bottleneck in my system has been the fuses not allowing all of the AC power to get to the transformers!!

“I had forgotten that my Quad 988 speakers had the gold Hi-Fi Tuning fuses installed. Replacement with the AH model has made them more dynamic and immediate without throwing the soundstage forward. My foot is now really tapping uncontrollably. Then I replaced the gold model in my subwoofer that supports the Quads below 63 hz. Incredible difference in impact and articulation.

“I conclude that Joseph has evolved from a Designer who pays attention to the details in his components to one like Lloyd Walker who designs sound enhancing add-on products. I recommend the AH fuse without hesitation for pre and power amps, the QOL Signal Completion Stage, subwoofers and electrostatic speakers. Well done!!”

From Evgeni in Russia come these remarks:

“I bought from you two fuse - for me and my friend. Both have the same impression of the fuses after burn-in time. Great dynamics, less noise, natural sound, sweet voices, very low bass and natural texture of the bass strings, clean highs. It's like I've changed the amplifier with much better one. We are very pleased with these fuses.”

I received Joseph’s latest creation a few days ago, the Platinum Reference More than a Fuse. I ordered 3 fuses to replace the 3 “Hi-Fi Tuning” fuses that I had installed a few years ago in my DAC and Pre-Amp. Before I changed them out I was thinking that I would probably have to do an A/B comparison to hear the differences but OMG…not the case! It was a slam dunk huge improvement! Since I installed them I haven’t stopped listening to all my favourite CD’s and I am rediscovering them all over again. When Victor said it was close to a component upgrade, in my mind it was every bit as good as one. There was an immediate increase in DYNAMICS and CLARITY (and not subtle), and a lower noise floor that I was simply not expecting at all! It is really nice to be able to upgrade your system and receive so much joy from very little investment! I can’t imagine why any audiophiles out there not wanting to put them in their system. To me it’s a must have! Thank-you Joseph!

Joseph let me say with the fuse added to dac , the voices, especially female voices, were grain free ,and so life like it was scary. I've never heard anything so natural. When I added the fuse to the mbl preamp, the soundstage and presence of that female voice grew and grew, plus uncanny depth to the music, and placement of instruments in the music--very very cool.

I want to tell you, couldn't wait to try a fuse on each ruby monoblock. The weight in the bottom was spectacular , the uncanny detail coming from those monoblocks, if I didn't hear it I wouldn't have believed it.

Joseph you have something here that is pretty unique, just for a real qualified test , I did something different, I wanted to see if one of the fuses was the same value as my bedroom bang/olufsen system ,all one compact unit on smaller scale, so if your not an audiophile, and if you like music on a smaller scale would something like this help. It made the bang/olufsen very very musical by removing any grain, like a veil was lifted , I was pretty blown away. It's a very inexpensive tweak for a very huge benefit . Joseph thanks for the opportunity to try the ( more than a fuse).

I have not really a-b tested them. Then again I did not feel the need for it... I will try and describe. . . . Listening impression is there seems to be more weight to the music. It flows more naturally. I have tried other high end fuses, they all seem better then the standard, although not substantially. Installing the AH fuses made me stop thinking about pieces of the music and rather the whole music piece. The instruments seem more separated with lower noise floor. I find the fuses a no brainer. Highly recommended.

I'm not much of a reviewer, but I wanted to say a few things about this new AH "More than a Fuse". I installed the fuse in my TP-2.0N preamp and I already had a HIFI-tuning fuse in it, so I was unprepared for what I heard. Like the other users commented, the sound opened up much more, giving instruments more of a realness, a palpable you-are-there experience that wasn't there before. After about 10 hours, the music gradually improved in every specific area possible, transparency, timbre, tone, dynamics (micro and macro), just more of everything that was there but like it was behind a veil before adding the fuse.

Although I heard a slight, but appreciable improvement when I replaced the stock fuses several years ago with the Hifi-tuning fuses, the AH Platinum Reference Fuse improved the musicality so much more. Victor had mentioned before I ordered the fuse, that the sound would improve similarly to upgrading a cable. He was right. I am very happy with this new fuse. I look at it as a key component rather than an audiophile tweak. It is staying in place and I hope it lasts for a long time before it ever blows, but if that happens, I will definitely order another one. Joseph has an excellent product here and I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about their musical listening at home.

I installed 3 of the 4 fuses so far. In the Philips tuner in my second system, the long 2 amp replaced one of your beta fuses. I have not done any critical listening, but it does sound smoother, richer, more involving, with better low level definition.

In my main system, I first replaced the beta fuse in the Decware Torii III with the new one. It did sound better than the beta fuse, though.

Then I replaced the Furutech fuse in my Decware phono stage with your new fuse. Wow, with that fuse change and the Torii III amp, the difference is day and night! I’m stunned! It sounds like a component upgrade. I first listened to a early 60’s Sara Vaughan LP, and it sounded richer, much more involving. I could not stop listening. Then I put on a 1957 pressing of Keely Smith’s first album (nominated for a Grammy in 1957). I noticed more low level detail, better imaging with depth to the soundstage. I could see the singer with the band behind her. I felt like I was back in 1957 (even though I was only 3 years old then). The two fuses made a big difference.

Thanks for these great fuses!

I purchased three Audio Horizon fuses. I substituted the Audio Horizons fuse for a Hi-Fi Tuning fuse (original Gold Plated with silver wire) in the preamplifier. Immediately, I heard substantial improvement in clarity and soundstage of the music reproduction.
Next I substituted the Audio Horizons fuse for a generic fuse in the power amplifier fuse. There was immediate improvement to the weight of the music reproduction.
Last, I substituted the Audio Horizons fuse for a Hi-Fi Tuning fuse (original Gold Plated with silver wire) in the DAC. The clarity of the sound picture and depth of soundstage improved somewhat, although not so substantially as with the preamplifier substitution.

In each case, the Audio Horizons fuse made a marked improvement in the system performance. I was quite surprised at the magnitude of the improvement. I strongly recommend the Audio Horizons fuses.

Excellent service and products. These fuses clearly beat the the Hifi tuning Supreme fuses. Highly Recommended !!

He later added these remarks:

Joseph I put your fuse in my Linear power supply for digital. i had a Hifi tuning a Silver fuse in there. The Audio Horizon fuse tightened up the imaging ,the balance was also a bit s smoother. The performance was just more at ease. I am talking about small differences, but in several areas which as a whole well worth the moneys spent. I am now looking forwards to getting the fuse for my Hegel amplifier,

Scifi wrote:

It is amazing how such a small part of a large component can affect the sound in such a positive way, but for sure the new fuse did just that. There was a definite improvement in presence and immediacy . . . . more of a "you are there" listening experience. I have a pair of Harbeth 7es3's which are reputed to be somewhat rolled off on the top end. With the AH fuse in the mix the upper end extension is outstanding and to my ears there is nothing that would indicate a rolling off of the high end frequencies. Dimensionality has also improved and the sound stage has gained a tad more depth and width.

The changes aren't night and day but rather subtle in nature. However they are nevertheless noticeable. I would venture to guess that if I took the fuse out and replaced it with the original one which as you know was a rather expensive premium fuse I would most definitely hear a degradation in the sonics.

I guess the best compliment I can give Joseph's fuse is that I would like to purchase another one for the 3.1 DAC. It is that much of an improvement on the preamp that adding it to the DAC is a no brainer.

Dusted wrote:

Joseph-got the fuse yesterday and installed it today. Really improved the highs (installed on a 8 watt EL34 SET amp driving the highs).Would definitely purchase another one down the line. The noise reduction it provides makes it worth the price. . . . It's an amazing fuse and I don't give that praise lightly.

tnv wrote:

Hi Joseph,

Indeed, the improvement was amazing.

I have been using AMR fuses which I think much better than HiFi Tuning; thus I thought your fuse should be more or less the same as AMR. However, upon installing your fuse to the pre-amp in playing a CD of Bach’s unaccompanied violin sonata, astonishingly it appeared that the violin came out from the speakers and playing in front of you; with such a great HiFi character, yet no loss in musicality. I could not help but listen to that CD til the end, which I could not do before.

Hello Joseph. Just wanted to let you know that You really have an awesome fuse. I was hoping it would be an improvement over the stock fuse and it is. With the fuse installed the music is much more natural sounding. Also bass is deeper and more detailed. Highs are smoother and there is more detail. Very happy with this fuse.
