After a lot of research, I bought this turntable here on Audiogon 4 years ago. I wanted a turntable whose quality was at the gateway to high-end vinyl playback, but whose price was reasonable. I drooled over the $10k and up turntables, but hell, when it comes down to it, I’ve got more sense than that. You do too I bet. I chose this one and it’s been great!

My listening habits: about once a month (if I’m lucky) I would listen to an album. Usually Blues for Allah, Ben Harper, Elvis Live, Sinatra at the Sands, or Pink Floyd. I have 4 young children, consequently, after bedtime was the only time I could listen to it. But they were sleeping so I couldn’t play it loudly. Now we’re remodeling our house and it’s time to part with a dedicated stereo system (I have other listings too). This turntable has very few hours on her.

I’ve always loved this turntable. It plays so smoothly. Some guy out there will review it and say something completely unintelligible about vagueness or depth, but I’m not buying it. You don’t need a $100k or even a $10k turntable to hear good vinyl. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this, from day 1. And you’ll enjoy it too.

The tonearm: a TP300. Very nice. East to adjust, easy to move. It glides nicely. Has a pickup/put-down lever, and a lockdown lever.

The cartridge: an Ortofon 2M Bronze (with a needle cover). It couldn’t possibly have more than 20 hours on it, maybe just a dozen. When I bought it, it came with an Ortofon Red, but I upgraded it. To be honest, I can’t tell a difference. The sound has always been amazing. I’ve used a Mcintosh MA6600 amp and Sonus Faber Liuto floor standing speakers. It’s been a great setup.

I’ve taken extra special care of it. It’s always been covered with the clear plastic form-case. It comes with a foam damping pad and 2 cork pads. The power supply is doubly insulated…first an AC/DC brick, then a switchable sine-wave box always functioning at 60HZ, ending with a serial connector cable to the pinth.

It’s heavy too. The shipping box weighs 60 pounds. The turntable itself is very heavy (I’d guess 35-40 lbs.), along with the platter (9 lbs). It’s belt driven.

I’ve also included a very precise Shure SFG-2 weight scale for calibration of the cartridge and tonearm, as well as a brush and solution for dusting off records before playing them, and also a damping weight to be placed on top of the spindle to remove whatever vibration might exist. I also put foam bumpers underneath each of the three feet for vibration absorption and to protect the furniture.

Packaging will be in the original factory box with proper foam cutouts.

Please look at the numerous photos, from every possible angle. I’ve put high resolution photos on Flickr here https://www.flickr.com/photos/racecannon/sets/72157647268769042/ and on iCloud here https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A7JtdOXmJtivGB

There are several reviews online. I won’t link to them here. Google is everybody’s friend.

Shipping… the dimensions are 13”x26”x19” and 60 pounds. It will come from Opelika, AL 36801. You can figure shipping to your zip code yourself. The price will be added into the purchase price. No handling charge. I’ll take it straight to UPS or FedEx, or even the Post Office.

Payment… personal check is fine. So is wire. Paypal too, plus the paypal fee of course. I think it’s about 2.9%. Lcoal pickup, but I foresee that as unlikely. Anyway, whatever it turns out to be.

Write me with any questions or offers. It’s been in a non-smoking home.

Thanks for looking and happy listening.
