I purchased this table from GTT Audio and Video of Long Valley, NJ ("bpgtt" here on Audiogon) on 12/29/12. A quote I saved from the Audiogon classified ad: "This is a store demo unit which we used very sparingly. Less than 5 hours on these units. Definitely not even run in.".
The table included tonearm mounts for the Feickert-modified Jelco SA 750 arm (I didn't need the arm and only took the mount), as well as an SME mount. I added a mount for my Origin Live Conqueror arm (tonearm not for sale) and a spare belt from Avatar Acoustics, their U.S. distributor at the time.Darren of Avatar also convinced me that the brass-weighted "PO+" platter and its bearing used in the new Feickert lineup would be a nice upgrade, so I bought them ($860).They are drop-in replacements for the stock platter and bearing, which I kept because they have little use. Dr Feickert now uses a high tech "slideway oil" for all of his turntables. I wrote him about it, and he informed me that this oil yields less bearing wear than the original grease and is an improvement even to the original bearing. I sourced a 250 mL bottle, which Dr. Feickert says "will last the owner 500+ years". The original belt is still working fine, so the spare belt is unused to date. The Origin Live arm board is also compatible with all Origin Live tonearms and all of the older Rega "single point fixing" tonearms.Arm boards for other tonearms are available from the current U.S. distributor, VANA LTD.
As you can see, this is Dr. Feickert's two motor, two tonearm-capable turntable. With the upgraded platter and bearing, my table is the same as the current model except for the updated motor controller with 78 RPM capability. It includes a custom Feickert protractor which, along with the sliding tonearm mounts, makes dialing in any tonearm a breeze.
I must ship in three cartons (turntable, spare platter and slideway oil). I'll cover shipping at my Buy It Now price. The Audiogon shipping estimator only includes the largest carton. I estimate total shipping to be $88 for all three cartons by UPS Ground. I will ship to continental USA only. No trades.
