This is an extremely clean Denon DP-2500 Direct Drive Turntable. It functions perfectly with a rock solid strobe light at both 33 and 45 rpms. The inside of the platter (the area that contains the magnetic stripe for the head to pick up for the quartz lock) is in perfect condition- no nicks at all. The table is in fantastic shape. A light spin of the platter will send it spinning for quite some time.
There are only 2 extremely minor imperfections I could note:
1) The area over the spindle on the dustcover has some sort of mark-- it almost looks like a mold imperfection rather than a scratch, but I don't know. Other than that the dustcover is really beautiful. You won't believe it's almost 40 years old. There is minimal swirling and no visible scratches I can see.
2) The area on the plinth where the rubber bumpers from the dustcover sit. You can see from the pictures that it is extremely minimal but I wanted to mention it.
I am including an original Denon tonearm cable that has had some nice canare cable and RCA jacks added. Looks and sounds very nice.
For some reason there are two ground wires, one from the tonearm and one from the turntable. I connected them both up to my pre-amp and had zero ground hum.
I have the red transport screws and I will install them upon shipping. I have shipped many tables and have often been told that the tables have arrived in the best packaging they have ever seen. I take my time to make sure you get the table exactly as it left me. I know that feeling of getting a box that sounds like rocks rolling around inside it instead of your new table, and it SUCKS! So I won't do that to you.
I have installed a brand new audio technica cartridge- basic and perfectly fine to leave as is, or upgrade as you like. I also have some other cartridges (Linn, Sonus, etc.) that I would be willing to work in to the deal if you are so inclined.
Thanks for looking, and if you are trying to find a nice old Direct Drive table from the golden era of them, this really is a nice example. Shipping will be actual cost via Fed Ex Ground to wherever you are. If you are using PayPal I will split the fees with you and go 1.5%
You can see a video of the table working here and here
