The First tuner made by the upstart engineers who left Kenwood and
started a new company (Kensonic) and they called their creations
Accuphase. And what a tuner it is---all 32 lbs unpacked and with
Josephs Chows (Audio Horizons) upgrades to the audio signal pathways.
The tuner was built as discrete output to begin with. Not easy to
improve on that.
See the pic of the work performed and as well you will
notice the white wiring which is a part of the upgrade.
Just back from a bulb replacement which while the job was done well the
cost was a gouge. Such are the times.
At any rate, It sounds fabulous. Only selling to lighten the load.
Will be lovingly packed as only a fanatic packer is wont to do. Unfortunately , due to
the gouging on the bulb replacement ($210!) the price is higher than I
would like. Clarification on upgrades list: No LED's in this. They had been changed to green unappealing as far as I am concerned, especially for this tuner. Changed back to bulbs and using the blue OEM filters that create the blue light meters. Also, no parts bag. That would have gone to the person who originally had the T-100 upgraded. However I did buy the tuner from Mr. Chow as he subsequently became the new owner.
Cosmetic issue: there is a nick on upper edge of face plate-just above the 100 fm MHz dial mark---completely slipped my mind to grab a pic of that although I suspect It didnt concern me when I got the tuner because its over 40 yrs old! It is all packed up double boxed and not about to go back in at this stage. That is why it came to mind to rate a 7. Perfect face only qualifies as 8. And actually , looking closely at the first pic (tuner is on) and looking at the upper edge a faint scratch can be seen.
Optimize the analog signal -- If at all
possible you owe it to yourself to be grabbing that signal via a
rooftop rotatable yagi antenna. Makes all the difference in the world.
It ensures the best sound quality obtainable via analog airwaves and of course then enables this tuner to sound its very best.
I
will need 3% for paypal. Shipping will be actual cost. Rating
of unit 7/10 is for age only. Operation is excellent in every respect
and all functions work as intended. The manual is readily available at HI FI Engine. And there is
