Svetlana Electron Devices (SED) 6550C Matched Quad (4). The Original SED from 1998!

Up for sale is a Matched Quad (4) of Svetlana Electron Devices (SED) 6550C.

These are the Holy Grail of 6550C tubes!
They are pre 'Winged C' and before New Sensor started their new production with the round holes in the plates.
Please check the pictures for the rectangle holes in the places and the date codes: 9836 (3x) and 9825.

They are a matched quad with at most 75 hours on them.

The lettering is close to perfect.

They come in their original packaging.

Note that these have the rectangular holes in the plates, VERY IMPORTANT! The older 6550B and 6550C from 1996 have the inferior round holes that Svetlana has had a lot of problems with! The 1996 (date code 96xx) is marked as 6550C, but is a transition series between the 6550B and the 6550C with the rectangular holes (which Jim McShane, tube guru, recommends: http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/vt.mpl?f=tubes&m=250726)
