These tubes were purchased from Upscale Audio where they currently sell for $376 per pair!
These tubes were made for the British military by Mullard in Great Britain in the 1960's. CV4004 is the British military designation for a high grade, high reliability 12AX7. The tubes are essentially new. They were cryo-treated, tested, graded and burned in by Upscale Audio. I have auditioned them for no more than 10 hours in my PrimaLuna - they sound awesome! Thanks in part to the unique box plate structure, they have an unmistakably rich midrange that only Mullard can provide and no rough edges.
