Valve Amplification Company VAC 300.1a stereo tube amp silver

Offered for sale is my VAC 300.1a stereo amplifier in silver.  It is in excellent shape sonically and also physically with the exception of one matter (described below).  

I have rated the amp 8/10 because of a slight spotting (not a discoloration, just a spotting, and each individual spot is quite tiny perhaps 1 mm in size) on each of the two front silver dials that is not really visible from a normal listening distance except perhaps in bright sunlight.  If you blow up the picture in the listing you should just be able to make them out.  This is exactly the condition in which I received the amp two years ago from the dealer who sold them to me.  Other than this the amp is in excellent condition visually and sonically perfect.  

I am only selling because I do not need this much power for my speakers.  I am switching to VAC’s very high quality lower output integrated amp with phono-stage for this reason and also to simplify my set-up.  I am offering the amp at a discount of 50% to its current retail price (please note that VAC’s retail prices for this unit have increased recently).   I am also selling my Renaissance Mk3 preamp, so please look at that ad if you have any interest.  

You would get one set of brand new VAC tubes (8 KT88s, 4 6SN7s, $1,240 retail value) and the original box, manual, paperwork etc.  I should have some spare VAC input tubes (6SN7s) that I can throw in.  The socket savers in the picture will not be included in the sale.

I have had the amp for just over two years having bought it as a demo from an authorized VAC dealer.  As I recall the dealer had it for about a year and a bit more before me.  The VAC warranty recently expired.  I have had no issues with this fabulous sounding amp, other than having to replace a couple of tubes somewhat prematurely but this is quite normal I understand.

The VAC 300.1a amp is legendary and is the company’s current model at this output level. Authoritative sounding,  with a really superb mid-range, as well as fabulous extension in both directions.  A truly remarkable component.  You will not be disappointed.

VAC has also been getting a lot of very well deserved recognition recently in the press for recent audio shows.  If you want you can also look at any of the recent trade show reports by TAS, Positive Feedback and several other well known review web-sites. You will also find VAC to be a really great company to work with as a consumer.
