The Telefunkens were $170/pair. The redesigned QS preamp is a remote
design which is convenient but also degrades the simple circuit and the
sound. Not to say the $1895 new one is not good but that this one is a
real value and sounds very good. Especially with the Telefunkens. I am a
QS dealer and this preamp carries a full manufacturer's warranty. I
will supply receipt with information. Have a box similar to the original
