KLLN 20 watt

I have for sale a single ended 20 watt stereo tube amp.  It uses all new components and new tubes except for the vintage 6CG7 preamp tubes.  The transformers are all custom American made.  The circuit uses a pair of 6CG7 preamp tubes run in parallel to increase output and decrease output impedance.  The GZ34 rectifier and 6550 power tubes are new JJ's.  The output transformers are 6 ohm and will work with either 4 or 8 ohm speakers.  The plinth is solid walnut and the chassis is 1/8" thick aluminum.  There are three push style terminals on the back.  Each of these is for adjusting the bias of the output tubes. The bias can be adjusted without opening the amp.  The passive components are all premium quality.  The coupling caps are Russian mylar K73-16's.    
The amp was tested using a high end Krell preamp and a pair of Audio Physic Virgo's.  Its tone is unusually pleasing with that bloom in the midrange that can't be touched by PP amplifiers. My audiophile friend John who owns the Krell and Virgo's was amazed at its midrange which he described as 'butter'.  He was also amazed at how good the image is.  The amp is capable of pushing the Virgos, (89 db @ 1 watt) to normal listening levels. 
The intent of this design was to achieve more than the 1 or 2 watts normally associated with SE amps   Without resorting to the prohibitively expensive super triodes.
