Selling a Croft Acoustics Micro 25RLS preamplifier and 7RS amplifier that are in mint condition. Decided I want to stick with solid state and spent too much lately. The craftsmanship on these units is remarkable.

Here are the details (taken from the ad I purchased it from):

"25RLS line preamplifier (without phono stage) – purchased earlier this year with a number of bespoke modifications made by Glenn Croft himself. The preamplifier uses a single volume control and his been upgraded with top quality parts normally used in his finest preamplifier, including:
• Rike paper in oil capacitors
• Non-inductive resistors
• Upgraded CMC phono sockets
• Upgraded circuitry which uses a pair of ECC99 (or 12BH7A) tubes instead of the standard single 12AX7 tube. This is a very significant upgrade and brings the pre-amp very close in performance to Glenn’s 25RS which is double the price. 12BH7A tubes are relatively inexpensive and sound much better than high gain 12AX7s. I’ve tried just about all of the fabled 12AX7/5751 tubes, and none of them sound as good as a 12BH7A, in my opinion.

7RS amplifier – purchased together with the preamplifier. Includes the following upgrades installed by Glenn Croft himself:
• Wire wound resistors in critical locations
• Upgraded CMC phono sockets
• Upgraded CMC speaker binding posts
Both are configured for 120V US power."

Buyer that I bought it from said he started with the standard integrated and moved up to the integrated R and then to separates.
"The improvement in sound quality was significant in every way…less grain, better resolution, more powerful bass, sweeter highs, etc. It was a spectacular integrated amplifier. For no good reason, I decided to upgrade AGAIN to separates, and I took the occasion to let Glenn hot rod the units as he saw fit. The results were stunning. As good as the integrated R was, the separates are better still. They sound very natural and provide fatigue-free listening. They are really nice components and should be considered "end of the line" gear for most of us.... "

The Croft Micro 25 R with phono sells for $2,595 in the US. That means the 25 R Line Pre-amplifier would sell for about $1800 in the US (shipping, customs, etc..). Also, this is the S version would sell for even more because it includes the significant mods done by Glenn himself. Think these would be about $400. So total would be about $2200 for the RLS version. The 7R sell in the US for $2595 plus this also had the $400 in upgrades.

I'm also going to throw in these NOS tubes I purchased from 3 sellers (paid around $300 for all of these):
5x Amperex 85A2 (OG3) - put in pre and amp
2x RCA (think these were Sylvainias) 12BH7A grey plates (matched pair) really nice - put in pre
2x RCA (think these were Sylvainias) 12BH7 black plate (matched pair) - paid about $100 for those 9 tubes
2x Vintage GE 5751 GL 3 Mica Black Plates D-Getter Stereo - 1953 - paid $113 - put in pre
2x GE triple mica black plate 5751 - paid about 100 for these- put in amp
Still have all the stock JJs and other tubes the Crofts came with. They will also be included.
