One of Cary's classic pre-amps

Up for sale is one Cary SLP 50A pre amp ,In excellent working and cosmetic condition with copy of owner's manual. I would rate it at a 8 of 10 . The mute control shows slight wear . For the full asking price I will include 2 rca black plate 6cg7 tubes and 2 GE JAN 6cg7 tubes as well . All tubes are matched pairs . It comes with a new set of Rca clear top 6cg7 tubes. This is a very nice pre amp at this price point even for its age . It has been in my backup system , Which I don't have room for anymore so it's time for someone else to enjoy !!!

The Cary Audio Design SLP 50B is built on a chrome chassis with champagne gold anodized front panel and matching knobs. The SLP 50B is all wired point to point with silver Teflon coated wire. The circuit and part selection contribute to an incredible listening experience.

The SLP 50A preamplifier is a vacuum tubed based line stage with 20db of gain. The class of operation is class A triode featuring a pair of 6CG7 tubes. The most interesting feature about the circuit that is in the SLP 50A is the same gain stage used on the single ended CAD 300 SE amplifiers. The 6CG7 tubes operate in an anode current source configuration.
The SLP 50 has three line level inputs jacks on the rear apron. From the jack the signal is routed to a silver plated selector switch on the front panel . The wiring is all Teflon coated silver twisted pairs. After the switch the signal is routed to a dual 100K potentiometer / volume
