Cary Audio Design CAD-300 SE 300B Monoblocks

For sale is a pair of highly desirable Cary CAD-300 SE monoblock amplifiers. They are functionally perfect and cosmetically excellent. All tubes (Shuguang rectifier, Shuguang 300B, and RCA 6SN7) in the pictures are included in the sale, and should provide years of service before needing new tubes. The amps have been sparingly used in the past 5 years in a dedicated audio room free of pet, kid or smoke.

Original double boxes are included for shipping, I've owned various 300B amps including the Coincident Frankenstein MkII, Canary audio and a few others, and I've always come back to the magic of Cary 300 SE. My 7/10 rating is due to age only , the amps work fine and sound terrific. They are the earlier version using one single 6SN7 tube instead of the later ones using two 6SL7. Experienced audiophiles know that the earlier version is more desirable due to heavier construction and smoother, more classical Cary sound. The later versions, which I have owned and sold, sound more Hi-Fi-ish and less musical, especially after Dennis Had left the comany.
