Original owner, purchased new from AR dealer. Not a scratch, blemish or fingerprint. Lovingly cared for and enjoyed in a smoke-free (but not scotch-free) home. Approx 3,200 hours total use, 1/2 with stock Sovtek tubes, 1/2 with 6H30-P DR Supertubes (both sets included). Hi fi Tuning fuse. More photos available. | This pre has many of the features I'm looking for, but have a couple of questions for you. I use a First Watt J2 amplifier. The J2 typically works well with a high impedence output from the pre. Like a tube amp. Do you have any experience with thie pre on either tube amps or amps like the J2? Your feedback would be appreciated. I used the preamp with an AR VT100 MKiii, (I used Tara Labs RSC Air 1 XLR interconnects). Input impedance of the VT100iii is 200k ohms, balanced and 100k ohms single ended. The output impedance of the LS26 is 700 ohms balanced, 350 ohms single ended. The combination sounds great, warm, detailed, fluid, open, dynamic. I don't have any experience with First Watt amps, but I hope the above helps. There are several forum threads on matching impedance on pre's and amps that are much more knowledgeable than I. |
