This is a used Mark Levinson Number 37 CD Transport.

It must be plugged into a DAC or a preamp or processor with digital outputs to work.

It is in VERY nice shape, and comes with the aluminum-cased Levinson system remote control (tested and with new batteries), power cord, and copy of the owner’s manual.

It has been tested.

• It also has the transport screw already installed on the bottom for safe transportation.
  

This transport was designed to be the ultimate “spinning machine” for CDs. It is NOT a CD player. You need to plug it into a D/A Converter (DAC), or Digital Processor.

Every single aspect of the design and manufacture of this product is cost-no-object.

The entire machine is very heavy. The unit comes with a clamping screw so the beautiful machined from aluminum drawer will not does not move in transit. We have that screw, and it will be reinstalled for shipping. Never even consider buying on of these machines that does not have this vital piece.

A remote control comes with the transport. All the normal functions are included on the remote, including next track, previous track, FF, REWIND, pause, stop, play, repeat, and A-B repeat.

The volume buttons are to operate matching Levinson PREAMPS, not the transport.

The transport can operate at increased speed when it encounters disc defects to give itself more chances to play through disc errors.

You can program songs to play in the order you want (big deal!).

More importantly, you can program the 39 to NOT play a song on the disc that you do NOT LIKE!

Even better, you can tell the machine to remember the song you don’t like, and it will skip that song (or songs) every time you play that disc in the future…and it will remember your programming for thousands of discs!

The time readout can be shifted between time into the disc, into the song, time remaining on the disc, and time remaining on the song.

On the rear panel are FOUR digital outputs. There is an XLR jack with BALANCED digital output data, a COAX BNC connector, an RCA jack, usually referred to as a COAX S/PDIF digital output, and also a high-performance ST OPTICAL connector. This output can run super-long runs of high performance optical digital signals with no loss.

In most systems, the Balanced output will give the best performance, with almost total immunity no noise pickup. It will also take full advantage of the totally balanced D/A conversion processors in many DACs.

So this transport has a lot of conveniences. Big deal! You will REALLY want it for the sound. This is one transport that really does sound better than others. It’s due to the jitter reduction circuits. Levinson put all they had into this machine, and few, if any today can still match it.

There is also a great pride of ownership that goes along with the purchase of this transport. The way it looks, feels, and operates makes everyday use a real pleasure.

This machine is set to 120 Volts. We cannot do conversions. It also is, according to the manual, only made to run on 60Hz. For that reason, we WILL NOT ENTERTAIN overseas sales.
